Visas

Visitors' visas are not required for visitors from North America, Europe or Japan. For other countries, please check with your local embassy for details.

Currency Service

The Legal tender as at 1st January 2002 is the Euro (€). Currency exchange facilities are available at airports, and city centre banks. ATMs are widely available. Traveller’s cheques and credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants and shops.

Sales tax refunds

The price of most goods includes value-added tax (VAT). Non- EU visitors can have this sales tax refunded at the end of their trip. Be sure to ask for a tax-free shopping form with each purchase and follow the instructions for completion.

Telephones

There are telephones in all apartments in Cuirt na Coiribe, phone cards are required. Public telephones telephones take either coins or call cards, which can be purchased in local shops.

Voltage

The line voltage is 220 V and most electrical points take three-pinned plugs.
