Travelling to Galway

By Air:

Galway Airport is approximately 6km from the city centre www.galwayairport.com Flights to Galway are available via Aer Arann www.aerarann.ie and Fly Be www.flybe.com There is a connecting bus service and taxi/hackney services available from the airport also. Car hire is also available.

Shannon Airport has direct international connections with the USA, London Heathrow and elsewhere www.shannonairport.com It is about 100km from Galway (1.5 hour drive). You can check the latest Shannon Airport to Galway bus timetable on the City Link website www.citylink.ie or Bus Eireann website www.buseireann.ie A taxi/hackney service is available but would be quite expensive. There are good car-hire facilities.

Dublin Airport has many international connections but is about 220km from Galway (3.5 hr drive) www.dublinairport.com. Good car hire facilities are available. Independent operators run coach services from the airport to Galway, departing outside the arrivals terminal Nestor’s & City Link. There is also a train service which runs from the centre of Dublin (Heuston Station). Please allow one-hour minimum for transfer from airport to the train station. By Rail
